Let’s Make This Absolutely Clear…

Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle is dangerously unfit for office. Leave aside her nutty rambling against the Department of Education or her calling the compensation fund for victims of BP’s oil spill a “slush fund”. Amongst her followers, that’s pretty standard populist, pseudo-libertarian boilerplate and isn’t really anything new. However, it all pales in comparison to a statement she made in a radio interview, quoted by both HuffPo and Political Wire:

“I think that two wrongs don’t make a right. And I have been in the situation of counseling young girls, not 13 but 15, who have had very at risk, difficult pregnancies. And my counsel was to look for some alternatives, which they did. And they found that they had made what was really a lemon situation into lemonade.”

This is unconscionable on so many levels it makes me want to throw up. Not only is she advocating that incest and rape victims be forced to carry their pregnancies to term, regardless of their own wishes, she’s also apparently in a position to counsel young victims to do just that. Additionally, she seems to have done so with all the sensitivity of a mercenary killer. I think anyone who allows this degenerate woman anywhere near rape victims should be locked up for endangerment. What’s really appalling is that this position is also fairly common among her followers. Remember, these are the same people who consider the murder of abortion doctors “justifiable homicide“.

I’m of the mind that there’s not a whole lot of gray area here: regardless of your views on abortion, if you advocate to a 15 year old victim of incest and rape to “make lemonade in a lemon situation” you should be disowned from society and never allowed to talk to another teenager for the rest of your days. This women is twisted in her belief structure, period. I’m no great fan of Harry Reid, but here’s wishing him good luck in his re-election battle with this waste of humanity.
